Perhaps there is something more to conflict with Iran than what meets on the surface.
For believers who are watching growing conflict taking place with Iran through the lens of Scripture, this may be more than just another geopolitical development—it could be a turning point in the prophetic calendar.

In a recent video by Max Lucado, he urged viewers to look at what is happening through the focus of biblical prophecy.
“Like many of you, I’m watching with keen interest as history takes a major turn,” Lucado begins, recognizing that this is not a moment to be overlooked.
As Lucado notes, ever since the rebirth of Israel in 1948, prophecy scholars have watched closely as world events seem to align more and more with what the Bible describes about the end of the age. The regathering of the Jewish people was not just a historic event—it was a prophetic marker, a “watershed event” that set in motion a series of end-times developments foretold in Scripture.
To be clear, Lucado asserts that no one knows the day or hour of Christ’s return—not even the angels in heaven. As Jesus said in Matthew 24:36, that knowledge belongs only to the Father. Still, Scripture encourages believers to discern the signs of the times. And among those signs are increasing tensions involving key nations mentioned in end-times prophecy, including Turkey, Russia and Iran.
“It certainly seems that the key players in the final divine drama are taking their places on the stage,” Lucado continues. And in light of that, Christians are faced with a choice: to respond with fear or with faith.
While the eyes of fear focus on instability and uncertainty, the eyes of faith see God’s sovereign hand guiding history toward a promised future. “God tells us what to expect—not to scare us, but to prepare us,” Lucado encourages. Much like a seasoned pilot informing passengers of turbulence ahead, our Heavenly Father is preparing His people for what is coming.

The days ahead may bring difficulty, but they also bring opportunity—for prayer, for hope and for holy anticipation. “Let’s be numbered among those who are looking toward the heavens, inviting our Savior to return,” Lucado exhorts. At the same time, we are called to be the aroma of Christ, to shine brightly in a darkening world.
Lucado’s message invites all believers to pray and hold onto hope for the ultimate Second Coming of Christ. “We do not know what lies ahead, but we do know that our sovereign Lord holds the world in His hands.”
